We are very excited and pleased to inform you that our new line of terrific wines from Italy, produced on the hills of the famous Bricco Quaglia vineyards, have arrived at the store. On Bob’s last trip to Italy he met Giorgio & Roberto Boeri, two winemakers from Bionzo Costigliole d'Asti in Piedmont. Bob was very impressed with the brothers’ commitment to quality and with the fantastic group of wines that they produce! Their entire line of wines including Barbera, Chardonnay, Nebbiolo, and Moscato, both sweet and rarely seen dry, are sensational! These wines provide great value and outstanding quality for lovers of the great wines of Italy. Don’t miss discovering the remarkable wines produced by our friends Giorgio & Roberto Boeri.

Moscato Secco – Musqué

A tank-fermented and aged white made from 100% Moscato, it offers up a lavishly scented, fruit cocktail-like bouquet and dry, medium-bodied flavors with good acidity as well as a hint of effervescence. Great by itself, with delicate hors d’Oeuvres or with assorted fish dishes.

Chardonnay – Beviòn

This single vineyard Chardonnay is split to age part of the wine in steel vats and part in barriques for 7-8 months. This attractively-perfumed (lemon/custard pie aromas), fresh, light to medium-bodied wine exhibits ripe fruit, no evidence of wood, fine purity, and an elegant, crisp, savory finish. It possesses surprising character for an Italian dry white, especially at this price. Excellent as aperitif, it also can accompany delicate fish and vegetables dishes.

Chardonnay – Bevion Selezione

This single vineyard Chardonnay offers sumptuous aromas of honeyed citrus and buttery oranges. On the palate it is full bodied, with great texture, outstanding balance, and a long, concentrated finish revealing both fine acidity and beautifully integrated wood. Great for grilled swordfish steak, pasta primavera or an assortment of chicken dishes.

Barbera d’Asti DOC

An excellent value, the ruby-colored Barbera d'Asti offers copious quantities of strawberry and cherry fruit intermixed with herbs and spice. Medium-bodied, soft for a Barbera, with fine concentration, and a spicy finish, try with your favorite pizza or pasta and red sauce.

Barbera d’Asti – Martinette

A marvelously ruby-red wine with aromatics of fresh cherry and raspberry. In the mouth sweet and plummy fruit with an impressive vigor, length, and freshness. Its versatility allows this wine to literally accompany a full-course, Carpaccio, entrée’s of chicken parmesan or veal and both young and mature cheeses.

Barbera d'Asti Superiore – Pörlapà

Blackish and impenetrable with a roasted, tarry, chocolaty nose, its lovely, ripe black fruit flavors, ample and supple texture, and fresh and vigorous continuity boast an impeccable fusion of fruit and oak.

The 2001 vintage won the gold metal at the 2004 Starwine International Wine Competition!

Our wine Barbera d'Asti doc Superiore named Pòrlapà 2001 won GOLD MEDAL as best Barbera at STARWINE 2004 USA www.starwine.net

Monferrato Rosso – Barbòlo

A blend of Barbera (25%) and Nebbiolo (75%), the two varietals are aged in small barriques for 18 months separately then blended when bottled. Vibrantly ruby-red colored with sweet aromas of black cherry jam, licorice, smoke, grilled herbs, and meat juices. Fruit-driven with a subtle touch of spice from the new oak with a finish of silky tannins. Enjoy with a rib eye steak, pepper encrusted rack of lamb or ripe cheeses.

Moscato d'Asti – Ribota

Luscious perfume of spring flowers and honeyed melons/apricots. It's lightly sweet, with frothy effervescence, light body (only 5.5% alcohol), and fresh, delicate flavors that explode on the palate. A wine excellent with desserts, or as an aperitif, a perfect wine to refresh your palate.
